Nauvoo family trip with the Siders!
Cyle has a sister that lives in Denver, CO. so we don't get to see them much.
But they decided to take a spring break trip to Nauvoo, IL to see the church history sites. And we happen to live only 5 hrs away!
What better time for us to take a trip out there as well!
We spent Friday night, Saturday and part of Sunday there with them and oh boy was it fun!
Nauvoo is BEAUTIFUL!
And the saints...what they went through.
Its amazing to me that they lived each day working just to survive the next day. I hope the found joy in the work they were doing b/c that is all they ever did it seems.
The temple there is the most beautiful place on the earth! We got to go and it was stunning. Such a blessing to have temples on the earth and the sweet spirit that we can feel esp during these troubling times.
Thankfully Cyle's sister, Carli, is quite good with the camera. She was able to snap some great shots!
So the trip went as follows...
Friday night we hit up the pool at the hotel...a must.
Saturday Cyle and I got up and went to the temple together while they watched Kingston. Then they came up and we went to the visitors center. From there we did a wagon ride around town. This wagon was pulled by two Clydesdale horses...= death by allergies for me. I closed my eyes and just listened. Also it was supposed to be 60 degrees but the weather man changed it at the last min to freezing cold and rainy. We were not prepared for that.
Thankfully the nice missionaries new we'd need some warm stuff. So they had lots of blankets, hats, and gloves. So we stayed pretty warm.
We then did another ride through the back woods and saw different spots where the pioneers "hung out".
Regardless of the cold it was still a lot of fun!
I really enjoyed seeing the grave site of Joseph Smith b/c it just seemed so real that he was right there. Its crazy to think about.
Later that day Carli and Ken got to go to the temple and we watch the Joseph Smith movie with the kids. I love that movie.
We then watched a show by the missionaries and they were SO cute! It was so fun!
On the way home our little niece Peyton rode with us to dinner. I love this little one. She is so full of funny comments. That girl can TALK! So when ever we vaca with them I love taking note of all her little comments.
So here are the comments of Peyton...
-You can trust them (brothers and sisters) only when they are not chocking you.
-Cyle: Is your mom slow?
Peyton: No. But she HATES running!
-I'm one of the fastest runners in the class and those kids can get pretty fast!
-***BEST ONE*** Pinterest is sometimes our friend or our enemy. It takes up half of our playtime b/c mom is looking up stupid recipes that we don't even like!
She cracks me up!
The next day we attend church at a little branch in Keokuk, IA. Then we came home to have fun at an Easter egg hunt that the bunny planned.
SIDE NOTE...My kids are doomed for ever believing in anything like that. I spill the beans SO easy!
The kids had lots of fun finding eggs!
Then we went to Nauvoo and went to all the different shops and places.
That was a lot of fun!
The fun didn't end there! Monday-Thursday (today they left) they came to Indiana to visit us!
We had so much fun having them. I thought we might need to bust out the food storage to feed all the troops! I forget how much they eat! haha A family of 6 is much more to feed then 2.5 :)
But we loved them being here.
We spent Tuesday at the Children's museum which is the largest one in the states. It was AWESOME! We probably one got through half of it. But had a great time!
Wednesday we went to the movies! I took Peyton and Cooper to the Croods and the rest went to OZ.
The Croods was quite cute I must say.
That night we went to dinner with Cyle and Morgan watched all the kids, including Kingston, at home. We went to TGIFiday and it is becoming one of my fave places to eat! The carmel cake thing...to die for!
This morning they were packing up to leave bright and early. They've got a long trip ahead of them.
BUT as they were getting ready I was helping Morgan learn how to do her hair. As I was blow drying it she just passed out! She hit her head and body against the wall and started shaking. She was out cold! I was freaking out inside and just yelled for Carli. She came to in 30 seconds but def had a headache and probably a little embarrassed. Poor girl. Broke my heart for her. Oh and it broke our wall. Thankfully walls are an easy fix and we are just glad she is ok.
Needless to say it was a very eventful and fun spring break!
Thank you Siders for the great time and for coming to visit us! WE LOVE YOU!
I almost forgot two more funny quotes...
While we were all eating together Kingston had a shirt on that said "Champ" and everyone was reading it and calling him a champ. Well Cooper had to join in on the fun and in his cute 3 yr old voice said "yeah Kingstons a tramp!" bahahaha!
Cyle was telling them how I'm a bad parent and how I put our BIMBO on the counter top! haha Bumbo. And yes I'm a bad parent and do that. But all weekend we joked about the bimbo in our house!
Good times!

Birthday!!
I LOVE birthday's!! I suppose I have my mom to thank for that.
She is so darling. Always making a big deal out of YOU!
She does her best to make every birthday special and make you feel loved.
And I'm here to tell you...she does!
So naturally I love them due to this kind of treatment.
This year my birthday (yesterday, March 26th, also the same date that the book of mormon was first published...cool) was GREAT!
It started off by an early morning of waking up at 5:30 am with Cyle to see him off to work.
I usually wait by the door to make sure the garage door closes ALL the way after he leaves...just in case. :)
But he lingered in for a bit so I opened it to find him parked half way in and half way out.
I said "what's up?"
Cyle: "I hit your car."
Me: thinking I would have no headlight or something crazy! "bummer!"
But it was just a little scratched. It was kind of more funny than anything.
He didn't think so.
But his car was fine. Just a tiny scratch.
Not the end of the world but still a bummer.
Well the rest of the day went just fine.
Got to hang out with Kingston so that is always great!
Then I had a Visit Teaching meeting that evening.
When I got home Cyle was there with 2 white envelops...
The first one was "who knows you best?!?!"
My man does!

Don't know why I cant get it to not be upside down so oh well.
But yep that's right! Ruth's Chris! Cant WAIT!
Then I got envelop 2. But he said I could either open it then or wait till the next day to get a box...
I chose to wait.
So we went and had dinner at Olive Garden...yummy!
And a nice evening of some snuggles.
My mom got me 4 cards and some money...do I hear massage coming my way...YEP I do!
Love her.
So then today rolls around and we are going about our norm...but its not norm at all! Cyle came home for lunch! How fun!
He walked in and hid in the pantry. I thought he was hiding from kingston till I realized he was hiding a box from me!
So then he went and got the envelop to make sure I didnt open it and then told me to open it.
So I did and it was a pic of my fave water pitcher!
Then he got the box and it was the actual thing!
This may seem silly BUT I had this water pitcher that I begged him to let me put on our registry.
So we got it and he said I'd never use it.
I drank my daily crystal light out of that thing.
And I LOVED it! I'd leave it in the sun to get really yummy flavor and oh the memories.
I know weird but I love dishes...especially pretty ones!
However, this pitch a few months back fell off the counter after a cleaning and broke completely!

I have literally been so sad about it. And I've told my self I'm going to buy a new one forever.
But my lovely husband did!
He really does know me too well!
Right now I'm so giddy about my pitch. So silly...but I'm in LOVE!
Perfect timing for spring time lemonade and sunshine!
I know its not even that fancy but I love it!
So that was my bday. I had a great one this year!
Which is good b/c it was my golden bday...26 on the 26th! Here's to a good year!
I also got SOOO many wonderful bday wishes from friends and family! I LOVE YOU ALL!!
My heart was truly touched by all the love!
Oh and one more thing...here is a link to the new blog.

New blog
So I'm keeping this blog, even though I rarely use it, but I'm creating another one.
The one I am creating is something that I've had on my mind for a few years now. Some people may find it silly, others may like it but either way I'm doing it just to write down my thoughts. Its mainly for me and I wasn't going to share it but I figure why not. So if you hate it don't read and if you like it feel free to add input :)
My new blog is what I call .... Life's lessons and....
Everyday I am doing the "normal" stuff. Raising Kingston, playing with him, daily house hold things like cleaning in its various forms and whatever else we do with our day.
As I go through my day however, these little analogy's about eternal principals come to mind that relate to the simple things I do.
Its based totally of my beliefs in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
It may seem silly or even at times repetitive but its my way of focusing my day on Christ. And "always remembering him".
It's not like an everyday thing, just whenever it comes to me.
So if you feel like reading it I hope you enjoy and add input if you'd like. I love learning what others learn and I love learning from life's lessons.

Life as we know it
Things are going well around here!
Kingston is growing growin growing!
At his 4 month check up he was weighing 16.13 lbs...
2 weeks later at a follow up appointment for his cough he is weighing 17.13 lbs.
He is one BIG dude!
Nothing too new around here.
We had a great/exhausting time at at the BYU/ND game!
Kingston got gas from swalling a bunch of air on the way to the game. So he and I spent half the game in the first aid station adding some BYU rivalry to the ND fans in there :)
Other than that we've been hanging with friends, working on the house and for Cyle...working working working!
But I just had to share this cutie little video of Kingston laughing at me.
I sound like a fool but he's cute!
Will update again soon!

Looking back...
Here is a short overview of the past few months!
Shortly after Kingston was born we moved to Indianapolis IN.
It took us a week to get here but we did it!
We bought a house in a pretty little neighborhood less than 1 mile from the church!
Our closing on the house didn't go as planned but we finally got it after 2 weeks in hotels.
The day after we got moved into our house we left for vacation to Lake Tahoe then to Idaho and finally to Utah! We had such a good time seeing both of our families and friends!
We finally made it back "home" to Indy.
We LOVE it here!!
Our ward is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! -I don't think I have enough !!! to describe our ward :)
Our town is quaint and close to lots of shopping yet still has the "small town" feel.
We are surrounded by corn and soy fields which make for a nice scenery.
Our neighbors are awesome!
Kevin and Victoria live to the left of us and they are so sweet!
They have an 11 yr old boy (Braum) and 5 year old girl (Brielle). That girl has sass!
They are total DIY'ers and so they have everything under the sun to help us with our house.
She's super crafty and he is a golfer so needless to say our families were made for each other. :)
Other than that little Kingston turn 3 months old today and he's the best!!
He is weighing in at about 15 lbs so he's a chunky monkey!
He is really starting to laugh a lot and its such a joy!
We just LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this boy!
Other than Cyle having a sprained ankle, right now our health is good, which is good :)
Our house was a foreclosure so its a work in progress and we are finally making some movement on it.
With all of that said (summed up shortly) we are blessed. Life is such a great gift. We are happy healthy and blessed. All glory to God for His many MANY tender mercies in our life!
Until next time (hopefully sooner) here are Kings newborn pics that we finally got back.
xoxoxo
